T.G.I.F.

Indeed!!! Well, I'm excited to see this week end!

After the eventful past few days (refer to previous picture and posts), I feel like I deserve a fun time; but then again those, who already met me, know that I'd use any excuse to go ahead & party ;-)

So what else is new? Well, during the week I finally took a step to change my state of unhappiness at work - yeap, I turned in my resignation letter. So I'll be a free agent in a short while.

Anyway, y'all have a great weekend!

Sleep much appreciated after a 40-hour day

Exhaustion won around 22.30 last night, after my stubborn struggle to keep my eyes open during my current favourite sit-com. Even after deciding to go to bed, I pointlessly tried to read for 'a while', only to realise that I was more seeing 'images', and not the words printed on the book. So I gave up and slept... And glad that I did sleep at that point - I had the hardest time to wake up this morning!!!

Anyway kids, if you are wondering how my image was created, go and have fun with this:

Now, I gotta leave the Land of Procrastination for some work!

but I'll be back, don't you worry ;-)

And let the battle begin!

After one cup of coffee, one cup of tea and a toast sandwich later, I'm feeling good again - yay!!

I'd been awake for the past 24 hrs - the latest reminder being the sound of the annoying alarm on my phone, reminding me to wake up at 6.55 am... Only if electronics we used today were more emotionally attuned to our needs, i.e. instead of the ear-scratching "beep beep, beep beep", a different melody today - like "I'll survive" - giving me courage to fight against sleep...
Yeah, yeah... I can keep dreaming, can't I?

And somebody finally realised my dreams and designed a PC complete with an EQ-rich OS - I'm buying one of these babies, the minute they are on the market ;-)

Try it out for yourself.

As the sun rises...

It's my first all-nighter at work this year - and hopefully the last...

Living in Cyprus has a lot of perks - but power cuts are not among those...
So due to a day-long power cut, and apparently a non-functioning UPS, we've spent hours trying to fix the damage, and therefore restore the database.

Now that things seem to be in order now, I wanted to use the opportunity to expand the horizons of the 'Land of Procrastination'!

Well... that's not entirely true - I was simply trying to stay awake, but I'm failing at that, too!

I'll go make some coffee now... caffeine is my best buddy tonight (oops, this morning already)!!!

Things that bother me at work

Oh well, I guess procrastinating while at work is not ethical either but anyway...

I wrote this blog a few months ago, but unfortunately my thoughts on the subject have not changed - so here is the unedited original:

It's been almost 2 hours since everybody else left and I'm stuck in the office waiting for some program to finish running - and that's when it hit me how much the following bothers me:

  • People leaving the office when it's 5pm and not a minute later. Also the fact that they don't care whether the work is done with their 'everything can wait till tomorrow' attitude...
  • Corporate snakes who wait for the fallen prey. And also live by 'The more I know & keep the others in dark, the more I win' strategy.
  • My ignorant fellow employees who keep saying 'It's not my subject, that doesn't concern me'. Well, dammit, what do you do around here??!
  • Know-it-alls.
  • Practicers of the art of ass-kissing.
  • People who seem to listen to you when you are explaining something, and say they understand, but nevertheless do everything the opposite way they were supposed too. We can also call them plainly 'stupid people'.

Did I forget anything? Any to add to the list?

The Beginning

Welcome to the Land of Procrastination, you big wanderer!

You can use this place to take a look at how my brain works, and to share your own meanderings and comments on what I post if you wish. If you don't like what you see or read, I'm open to criticism as long as you give your reasoning. But if you are going to be offensive, then there are millions of other pages on the Net, please surf through those!

So now that we are done with the disclaimer, let's get this blogspot going baby!!
